Planned Parenthood Illinois Action (PPIA), the non-partisan political and advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood of Illinois, has endorsed the following candidates for the November 2010 General Election, including the following candidates for statewide office.
GOVERNOR:
Pat Quinn (D)

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR:

TREASURER:

COOK COUNTY BOARD PRESIDENT:

Recognizing the important role that Cook County plays in women’s health care, PPIA made an endorsement in the Cook County Board President’s race for the first time in its history. As an alderman on the Chicago City Council, Toni Preckwinkle can be commended for her outspoken support of the recently passed Bubble Zone Ordinance.

As State Treasurer, Alexi Giannoulias went outside the scope of his office to fight for women’s reproductive rights in the Illinois General Assembly by actively supporting legislation such as the Reproductive Health and Access Act.
